On April 28, 2012, the Brandon Bluefins Swim Club and Dauphin’s Swim Club, the Gators, attended a Swim Clinic facilitated by Darin Muma from Swim Manitoba and Outperform.

In the morning, the swimmers practiced their starts and experienced a Dryland session. In the afternoon, the swimmers practiced their turns and streamlines.

During the day, students also analyzed swimming videos, in order to improve their swimming technique.

The swim clinic will prepare the swimmers for the next swim meet, Manta Invitational at the Pan Am pool in Winnipeg.

Time Trial – Cancelled

Message from Len Rust

Due to technical issue respect our upcoming time trial on May 11, we were unable to obtain an official sanction from Swim Manitoba. As a result, the time trial has been cancelled.

My apologies for any confusion this has caused.

Reminder – Fundraiser on Wednesday

Message from Rina:

Hi everyone. Just a reminder about the Fundraiser planned for Wednesday  April 25th.

We are having a Lea Sophia jewellery party in the “classroom” at the  Sportsplex, starting at 6 p.m.. 20% of total sales will go to the Bluefins.

Please bring as many people as you can to help make this a big fundraiser, with  not to much hard work involved for any of us.

It is close to Mothers day, which  gives everyone an excuse to get something for yourself or your wife or  mother.

• If your swimmer has less than 6 swims, he/she will have bonus swims to bring them to 6 individual events.
• If your swimmer has more than 6 swims, he/she will be allowed to swim 7 individual events.
